It takes less time to go aside and converse and listen to the Creator of the Universe than many of us spend on social media. Yet, many of us will not spend that valuable time with Him. The Lord sees us and longs for us to spend time with Him, because one day we will meet Him face to face.

Many people we communicate with on social media do not see us and in most cases will never meet us, yet we have placed social media higher than God.

We are at a crisis in our nation and God’s people are at a crossroad. Over the decades, believers have been turning a blind eye to the evil rising in this nation. Example: have allowed one woman, Madelyn Murray O’Hair to have Bible reading removed from schools. One woman! The Ten Commandments have been removed from many of our public buildings. Our National Anthem and Flag are being trampled upon as though they are things of disgrace. In addition, we have been complacent in the Great Commission Christ gave us to spread the Good News of the Kingdom of God to all the world. Now, the results are in.

The wages for the sin of this nation are about to be paid in full. Sin is singular here because it is the greatest sin a nation can commit; abandoning God. Earlier I posted in social media how the Lord will leave a nation to its own demise instead of forcing Himself upon it.  He will turn away from a nation that willfully leaves the Lord.   This might seems to be a hard word, but we need only look in Old Testament history and in recent modern history to see this truth. The USA has been pushing even the thought of God out of our schools, government, justice system, work places, media and entertainment systems… and yes, even our worship. Surprised? Don’t be. This is done all in an attempt to push the thought of God out of our consciousness.

Many places of worship are no longer about the Lord. Many have resulted in being places of entertainment and commerce, fashion shows, dance studios and yoga classes.  There are pimps in the Pulpits, promiscuous individuals leading as deacons, elders and heading the choirs; as well as rock bands heading up the Youth Dept. Really? What ever happen to God’s people being a peculiar people? I Peter 2:9.  Satan has deceived even the very elect into believing the way to grow the church is to become the world. Or at least look like it, (a little) so that young people can be interested in going to church.

The true Church is the Body of Christ. It has no need for bells and whistles for people to be attracted to it. The Holy Spirit is a powerful witness that comes into a believer’s heart once the Lord draws him or her. The growing child of God is effective in their outreach and witness to the world by the way they live. This is a natural response to the indwelling of the Spirit of God. Outreach. Here’s an observation:

Forty-Five Percent Born Again?

While 80% of Americans say they are Christian, 45% call themselves «Born Again Christians» according to Barna Group, Ventura, California, USA

Forty-Five percent of Americans say they have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, have confessed their sins and accepted Christ as Savior according to The Barna Group. But even survey author George Barna agrees that not all born again Christians are bearing fruit. What we›re finding is that there is still a lot of superficiality related to the fact that a lot of people have recognized that the spiritual dimension of their life is important. Barna finds that 36-percent of Americans are what he calls NOTIONAL CHRISTIANS, they describe themselves as Christians but do not meet the born again definition.

Now, according to U.S. Population (2018) – Worldometers, there are a total of 325.7 million people living in the U.S. If Barna Group data is correct, then 261 million people are Christian and 118 million from that number consider themselves “Born Again” followers of Christ. Knowing this, can you see how it can be possible one woman could have stopped Bible reading in our Public Schools? Sounds ludicrous, doesn’t it? But it happened.

With all that we are witnessing across this country, riots, protests, violence, killings, injustice, corruption in government, etc., it appears that the darkness has such a great stronghold on this nation. Has God given up on America? Has He turned His back or is there still hope? Could it be that God is turning slowly, just as He turned away from His Son on the cross? Jesus cried out, “My God! My God! Why hath Thou forsaken Me?” Could this have been because the Father saw the sin of the world upon His Son and could not bear it? Jesus was innocent. He had not sinned. Yet, all the sin of the world was placed upon Him. Darkness covered the land right before Jesus’ words. Matthew 27:45-46. One commentator said it this way:

2 Cor. 5:21 says, “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” It is possible that at some moment on the cross when Jesus became sin on our behalf, that God the Father, in a sense, turned His back upon the Son. It says in Hab. 1:13 that God is too pure to look upon evil. Therefore, it is possible that when Jesus bore our sins in His body on the cross (1 Pet. 2:24), that the Father, spiritually, turned away. So, is there any hope for America? Yes, there is hope. On social media we often see believers posting the scripture from II Chronicles 7:14 with a nice image like the one below.

This is such a wonderful reminder of what each of us must be willing to do for our country. But it goes beyond just posting an image. We must return to God with our hearts and we must pray for God’s will for America. If the statistics are true, at least 118 million of us should be impacting our world; starting with the sphere of our influence.

Pray for a Great Awakening in America. Ask the Lord to reveal to your heart, His heart. When He does, you will begin to pray the perfect will of God for this country and its people. Pray that God will, “…turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers. Otherwise I will come and strike the land with a curse.” Malachi 4:6

The reason I am encouraging the Body of Christ to pray for an Awakening instead of a Revival is because it is all inclusive. The entire nation is included in an Awakening; all groups of people and situations are brought before the Lord. Praying for a Revival limits the prayer to just believers.
