There can be Unity and Diversity in the Body of Christ at the same time. The children of God is a unique group, having different backgrounds, different races, different experiences, and most of all with different callings and gifts.
Those of us who are people of the faith… followers of Christ, must remember that we are a part of the same Body. 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 “Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.”
Reading the rest of the text we learn that no one part of the Body can discard or neglect another without hurting the whole Body. If one part of our Body suffers, the whole suffers. If one part rejoices in a blessing, the whole enjoys the blessing.
Let us be very careful about holding anything against each other. In addition to the reasons given above, God’s Word tells us that when we ask His forgiveness we cannot hold un-forgiveness in our hearts. If we do, we will not be forgiven. Matthew 6:14-15, “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive yours.”
In another text, Jesus encourages us to be reconciled to a brother or sister before offering a prayer or a love gift to God. Matthew 5:23-24 A lot of times this takes an enormous amount of humility. It could be the other person’s fault that the chasm even exists.
But God will reward us for being humble enough to try to repair the breach. The enemy of our souls is also the enemy of the Body of Christ and he will use the breach to bring corruption and destruction to the work of the Father. Let’s not let that happen. Close this gap. If in your quiet moments today, the Holy Spirit brings such a precious one to your heart, let His Holy Spirit guide your next move.
Let nothing stand in the way of getting our prayers answered. This is the road to our own Healing. This makes our Father’s heart Glad. John 13:34-35 “A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”
In 1st Corinthians 12:31b, Paul writes, “…And yet I will show you the most excellent way.”
