A PHASE IV Campaign Event – Growing the Distance
P.I.C.C., Inc. is proud to announce our first project as an official organization.
First Responders in our communities are very important. No matter where we live, when danger, disaster, or tragedy strikes, we turn to our First Responders. They give wholeheartedly to help us, often with no reward. Many of them go even further by volunteering in schools, organizations, and wherever they see an opportunity to assist.
A prime example of the sacrifices made by our First Responders is the shooting that occurred on January 28th in Houston where four police officers were shot and another suffered a knee injury while serving a narcotics warrant. Thankfully, all are recovering well. In addition to the sacrifices made by these officers, the fire department and EMTS are to be commended for their rapid response to care for and transport these officers to the hospital.
These brave souls often go unnoticed, putting their lives on the line for people they don’t even know. In some urban communities, police are seen as the bad guys; children watch and react to their parents/family and the catch on quickly. The sacrifices of our First Responders go above and beyond and we need to respect, honor and encourage them. Let’s make sure to instill the respect these First Responders deserve in the hearts of our children.
The Competition
P.I.C.C., Inc. has come up with a great way to serve this effort. PICC-A-First Responder. We decided to make this our first project of 2019 to bring people together in more ways than one. We are offering people across the nation an opportunity to be participate in a competition; a unique challenge for anyone to submit an article, poem, or a video about one of these great people or group of civil servants who have exhibited acts of service in the community. These groups include, but are not limited to, a local Police Dept., Fire Dept., or Paramedic Team (EMT).
Submit to P.I.C.C., Inc. Editor in Chief, Tim Nobles at tnsnobles@gmail.com The publication that gets the most viewers will get to choose the local dept. they want to honor and P.I.C.C., Inc. will provide lunch for that group. Once a winner is declared, it is up to that individual to provide local lodge/station info, shift to be recognized, and the number of officers/medics on that shift.
This competition is open to everyone and we hope you will take part in it. P.I.C.C., Inc. guidelines for this competition are (1) the author must submit an original work he or she created; (2) create on a level that an adolescent and older can comprehend so the effectivity would be well within a targeted group. It is vitally important that some young people re-think their position about First Responders. Society has deceived them into believing these groups are less than our helping hands; (3) it is up to each competitor to let people know to view their publication. We will provide links that you can share with family, friends and others.
It’s time to get busy! This is a great opportunity to honor and encourage the First Responders in YOUR community. Identify those who are most deserving. Create a submission showing what they have done in your community. Send it in so we can publish it on the blog. That’s it! We’ll take it from there!
Please submit your entry to tnsnobles@gmail.com between April 1, 2019 and April 30, 2019. You’ll be glad you did!
P.I.C.C., Inc.’s motto is to be A Beacon of Hope to Inspire, Encourage, Inform, and Engage.
