Who Will Fight for Them?

The 46th anniversary of Roe v Wade was January 22, 2019. To celebrate, we saw pictures and videos of people smiling as Gov.Andrew Cuomo almost gleefully signed the Reproductive Health Act into law. The images of this have shaken me to my core and has drawn outrage from all across the country. It allows unborn babies to be aborted right up to birth. This is unconscionable to most Americans, some calling it outright murder. As a matter of fact, many doctors and nurses have condemned this action.

New York is not alone. Several states have enacted the same type of law, mostly out of fear that Roe v Wade could be overturned.

Abortion is now the leading cause of death in the world. There were more deaths from abortion in 2018 than deaths from cancer, malaria, HIV/AIDS, smoking, alcohol, and traffic accidents combined. Under the new law, we will see those deaths escalate dramatically. The U.S. is just one of seven countries that allow elective abortion after 20 weeks.

What has happened to the sanctity of human life? Has America stooped so low as to allow this atrocity???

I was 18 years old and a new Christian when Roe v Wade was signed into law. It sickened me. I never even considered that it would become allowable to kill babies, full term in utero, or just born – all with the government’s stamp of approval!

As a nation, we fight for animal rights (as we should) and punish those who abuse or kill them. I have seen pictures of abused animals that literally kept me awake at night. What about these innocent babies? We have all been horrified at the graphic images of these tiny lives being snuffed out  before they were even born. Who will fight for them?

“And the battle rages. Who’s side are you on, for we ARE taking sides here…life and life abundantly, or evil and death? On this there is NO middle ground!” MJ Johnson

We, as Christians, cannot continue to sit idly by and watch this travesty. The fact that we don’t agree with abortion makes no impact whatsoever if there is no commitment to stand boldly against it. Our voices must resonate across the country in defense of these children. I challenge every Christian – every American to stand up for the lives of these innocent unborn babies. If we don’t, who will?????

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”   II Chronicles 7:14

About Gail Pinder

I was born in New Jersey and raised in a small town in Pennsylvania. I have lived in many places – Texas, Arkansas, Delaware and finally Michigan. Several years ago, I met a wonderful man – a Vietnam Navy vet who shares my love of God and Country! We have been happily married for more than 15 years. I have two children of my own and Emery has two children. We have four wonderful grandchildren. Emery and I both have Multiple Sclerosis. He is now in a powerchair and I am his caregiver. Life is somewhat challenging, but we do the best we can. We tell everyone that “We have MS, but it doesn’t have us!” I have always loved to write and my dream was to becoming a “writer”. PICC gave me a window to my dream and an opportunity to share my thoughts with others. Our faith is strong and I don’t know where we would be without it. We are determined to spread a little sunshine in a darkened world. I've been married to my wonderful husband for 14 years. I have two children of my own and Emery has two children. We have four grandchildren. My husband and I both have MS and I am his caregiver. We tell everyone that "we have MS but it doesn't have us!"
